CASSIDY Petit

24 | Hula | Investment Associate
Residence: Burlington

Career highlight(s): The career highlight I'm most proud of is being appointed to the Board of Directors of Working Fields.

Community Involvement: I had an internship with Lund Family Center in 2018 which exposed the cyclical nature of addiction, poverty, and abuse in our local community. This instilled in me a deep connection to the VT recovery community. Since 2018, I've continued to advocate on behalf of the organization, and more broadly, for criminal justice reform. Incarceration doesn't mitigate addiction, period. I continue to support their residential program by regularly subbing as a counselor.

What motivated you to live and work in Vermont? Following my time at UVM, I was inspired by VT's culture of balance and connectivity to nature. Now, I am motivated to stay because there is serious opportunity for young professionals to make meaningful change in this community. Gen Z is rising and ready to make necessary systemic change in VT. In my role at Hula, I have the unique opportunity to advocate for, and create avenues to retain young professionals.

Favorite part of your job: My favorite part of my job is that I have the opportunity to drive meaningful economic development in Burlington. And getting to hang with the awesome humans of Hula.

What is the best career advice you have received? The best career advice I have received is to create your own opportunities.

Favorite downtime activity: My favorite downtime activity is hiking with my dog, Kane.

Favorite Social Media and why: My favorite social media is Tiktok, obviously.
