Career highlight(s) you are most proud of:
implementing a Kanban style inventory system. This system replaced the batch system previously used to a more streamlined pull system that uses inventory boxes to create departmental demand. The 
system took years to build out and now has over 5,000 boxes. This system has saved countless hours by providing every employee the ability to know what needs to be done next and creating more autonomy at work.
Your community involvement:
Includes volunteering for many local organizations and serving on the board of a couple local organizations. For many years, I volunteered at events for nonprofits to help make the events a success. Since 2016, I have been an active board member for both the Middlebury Lions Club and the Addison County Chamber of Commerce. Serving multiple positions, from treasurer to board chair, has provided me experience in both leadership and civic participation.
Inspiration for living and working in Vermont:
After graduating high school, I went to Clarkson University in New York for engineering and management. The knowledge I acquired filled a need within the family business, which is located in Middlebury.
Favorite part of your job:
Helping to improve production processes that streamline workflow. It is also satisfying to resolve production issues that improve the ease of manufacturing a product.
Favorite Vermont escape:
Hiking trails around the state.
Favorite Vermont season:
Fall. Unfortunately, it passes quickly into winter.
How your community service has changed since the pandemic:
Many in-person events for which I previously volunteered have changed their format or are no longer happening. Board participation has changed as more meetings are either virtual or hybrid, which brings its own benefits and drawbacks.
How your job has changed since the pandemic:
My job has not changed significantly, since most of my responsibilities are related to the production floor, not a virtual workspace. The broader changes are in how I have had to change my approach with suppliers related to lead times, material pricing and general availability of materials.
