Favorite Part of Job? Hands down the best part of my job is the customers. We live in a part of the world that values sports and activity a tremendous amount. They love coming into my store and I love to serve them. They make the job worth it.
Most Inspiring Mentor: That would be my mom. She showed me how to work hard, continue educating myself and go out and get anything I set me mind to.
Tell us something fun about yourself that few people know: I'm kind of a huge gossip. Sure I can keep a secret, but I like being in our downtown and having all my customers keep me informed with what's going on.
Favorite Downtime Activity: Any sporting activity. My passions are biking, skiing, snowboarding, playing hockey, coaching lacrosse or just throwing a ball in the backyard. But I love them all. You'll also find me in my garden often and sometimes on a local theater stage.
Favorite Vermont Escape: Anywhere in the green mountains. Getting into nature and finding the peace and serenity of this beautify place is my own form of therapy.
Favorite Social Media: My local newspapers- I'm old fashioned guy that likes getting my info the old school way.
Favorite Website: www.theawesomer.com. Awesome stuff of all kinds. Really just a bunch of fun stuff on the web.
Vermont Business Person you would most want to Network with: Bill Stenger. The guy just gets it done. He also gets it. A Vermonter that does what he can for himself and where he lives.
Career Highlights: In my previous career is was creating some of the best art in Boston with the company I created Orfeo Group. Anytime you know you're doing the best work around, its a special opportunity. In my current career, it's just seeing solid sales increases almost every quarter I have been in business. It lets me know my customers value me and I am doing a good job.
Community Involvement: I view my community involvement as very important to both my community and my business. I'm on the transportation advisory committee as the bike/pedestrian representative. Board member of the Lamoille County Planning commission and the chair of the Economic Development committee. Part of the lacrosse coaching team at Lamoille Union High School. Secretary of the VMBA chapter bike club Mellow Velo: Trail Stewards of the Lamoille Valley. Lastly, I am the President of the Morrisville Alliance for Culture and Commerce (MACC), Morrisville's downtown organization. This is extremely important work to revitilize our historic downtown and boy are we making progress. If you want a great place to do business, come to Morrisville!
