CHARLES Romeo
Favorite Part of Job? My favorite part of my job is working in a fast-paced environment involving a broad spectrum of legal areas and playing an integral role in the government of my hometown.
Tell us something fun about yourself that few people know: I met and shook hands with two presidents (Clinton and G.W. Bush) before graduating from high school.
Favorite Downtime Activity: Spending time with my wife and son and playing golf.
Career Highlights: Since being admitted to the bar I have been fortunate to have practiced law in service to my home town and region, first as a Deputy State's Attorney for Rutland County and then as Rutland City Attorney. While in law school I served as one of Senator Patrick Leahy's law clerks on the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Community Involvement: I was appointed to serve on the Rutland City Board Aldermen in 2005-2006 and after graduating from law school was elected for a full term in 2011 and again in 2013 before resigning to become City Attorney.
Currently, I serve as secretary of the Board of the Young Lawyers Division of the Vermont Bar Association; the Judicial Director for Green Mountain Boys State; a trustee of Knights of Columbus Rutland Council #232; and on the governance committee of the Rutland Young Professionals.
