JENNIFER Sullivan

29 | McSoley McCoy & Co | Audit Supervisor
Residence: South Burlington

Career highlight(s): The career highlight I'm most proud of is being involved and leading McSoley McCoy's community outreach. I feel fortunate to have been able to meet and learn about local Vermont non-profits and engage with them in various ways.
I have also tremendously enjoyed getting to know various Vermont businesses through my every day auditing work at McSoley McCoy.

Community Involvement: My community involvement includes donating my time to help out with events for various non-profits as well as partaking in events to raise money. I have also been involved in hosting non-profit spotlights to allow everyone at McSoley McCoy to learn about local non-profits and ways they can get involved with their community.
In January 2020, I became the President of Cancer Patient Support Foundation and my work with CPSF has kept me busy but also brought so much joy in helping cancer patients throughout Vermont.

What motivated you to live and work in Vermont? I was motivated to live and work in Vermont because of the people I have met both during college and after college. My decision to attend Champlain College brought me to Vermont and from freshman year of college I fell in love with Vermont and never wanted to leave. Vermont is a beautiful state and the people here are nice, caring and supportive.

Favorite part of your job: My favorite part of my job is getting to meet people! Although an introvert, I love meeting new people and learning from them. My job allows for this to happen quite frequently.

Most inspiring mentor and why:
My most inspiring mentors have been former teachers/professors and bosses of mine. I have learned something important and worthwhile from each of them and try to emulate those pieces I admire daily.

What is the best career advice you have received? The best career advice I have received is to not be afraid to make mistakes. Most learning and the best experiences come from learning about what did not work.

Tell us something fun about yourself that few people know: Few people know that I was on the MA 4-H Horse Judging team when I was in high school! The regional competition was held at UVM (this was my first introduction to VT!). Our team came in 10th at Nationals in Kentucky.

Favorite Vermont escape: My favorite Vermont escape is hiking Mt. Pisgah and taking in the view of Lake Willoughby!

Favorite downtime activity: My favorite downtime activity is hiking with my two dogs or riding my horse  at Erin Longworth Performance Horses.

Favorite Super Hero and why: My favorite super hero is Charlie Brown. When things go wrong, Charlie Brown still gives it his all.

Favorite Social Media and why: My favorite social media is Instagram!
