JOE Daigneault
Company: PC Construction
Title: Chief Estimator
Age: 34
Favorite Part of Job? Working with my team members to come up with the best solution to the task we are challenged with. There is nothing more fun than challenging each other and coming up with a quality approach on how to build something.
Most Inspiring Mentor: My high school football and wrestling coaches were two of the most influential mentors in my life. I would not be the person I am today if it were not for these inspiring men.
Favorite Vermont Escape: Out in the woods of The Northeast Kingdom during hunting season is my favorite place to be.
Favorite Downtime Activity: I enjoy getting out on the lake with good friends and family.
What is the best career advice you have received? My Uncle told me once to lead by example and always challenge "the norm".
What motivated you to live and work in Vermont? Vermont was very similar to where I grew up in New Hampshire so I wanted to have lakes, mountains, four seasons and be relatively close to family & friends. PC is a great company located here in VT, so it was an easy choice.
Career Highlights: I hired on with PC into the Leadership Development Program in 2006. Upon completion of various field rotations, I graduated from the program in 2009 and decided to join the estimating team. Having now been in the estimating department for 9 years, I have progressed up through various positions from a Staff Estimator to a Chief Estimator. I have gained DBIA Certification and sit on the DBIA New England board of Directors. I lead a couple of committees and initiatives in the PC main office and am working on other certifications currently.
Community Involvement: I spend much of my time outside of work in a gym or on a field. I am an assistant coach for the CVU High School Wrestling and Baseball Teams. I also enjoy volunteering in the annual Dragonboat festival held on the waterfront in Burlington. I actively participate in the annual United Way campaign that PC Construction is involved with every year.
