Favorite Part of Job: My favorite part of working at Stone Environmental is the people. We have a diverse and immensely talented team of scientists and application developers allowing us to collaborate with clients to provide unique solutions for a wide range of challenges.
Most Inspiring Mentor: I have been fortunate to have inspiring mentors through each stage of my life and career. My paternal grandmother comes to the top of my mind as someone who encourages me to live simply and honestly and to have a sense of humor while I’m at it.
Tell us something fun about yourself that few people know: I was a pretty serious marching band geek in high school. To me, Friday Night Lights meant marching to the beat of the drumline and a big half time show!
Favorite Vermont Escape: Getting out to one of Vermont’s many lakes for a paddle, picnic, and swim with my husband.
Favorite downtime activity: I really enjoy making a homemade meal, particularly with veggies from the garden or from the great supply of local food that Vermont offers.
Person you would like to share a Vermont beverage with: Jane Lindholm from Vermont Edition. She’s so articulate and personable and has had the opportunity to talk with so many other incredible Vermonters.
Where do you see yourself professionally in ten years? I don’t see my career path as a linear one and hope for some of the unexpected in the coming years. That said, I hope to be a leader in integrating geospatial technology in all facets of how we, as Vermonters and beyond, do our everyday work. The awareness of location-based information and its value, along with advances in technology, will make this next decade an extremely exciting one.
