Career highlight you are most proud of:
The career highlight I'm most proud of is having my cookbook, The Anti-Inflammatory Kitchen Cookbook, nationally published in 2018. I am also so proud every day when my patients see improvement in their health from our work together which is why we started Whole Health Nutrition in 2011.
Community Involvement:
My community involvement includes advocating for supportive services for those with developmental disabilities. I started a non-profit called Building Hope For Children to help improve access to services for children with complex medical, behavioral and developmental disabilities.
What motivated you to live and work in Vermont?
I was motivated to live and work in Vermont because of growing up here and to be close to family. I love to garden, be outdoors and love all of the supportive communities in Vermont which is why I wanted to continue to live here.
Favorite part of your job:
My favorite part of my job is helping others improve their health through the nutrition counseling work that I do. I also love taking food photographs and creating new recipes.
What is the best career advice you have received?
The best career advice I have received is to never give up. It is better to ask for something and be told no than to never ask.
Tell us something fun about yourself that few people know:
Few people know that I do Tae Kwon Do, it is so fun!
Favorite Vermont season:
My favorite Vermont season is summer. I love sunshine, warmth and growing a large vegetable and flower garden.
What is your favorite smell?
My favorite smell is coffee, this is the best! Second favorite it garlic cooking in olive oil......
If you had unlimited access to funds, which cause(s) would you support:
The cause I would support is improving access to services for those with developmental disabilities and medical complications in the state of Vermont. I would also support investment for climate protection.
What career goal(s) would you like to accomplish in the next 5-10 years?
The career goals I'd like to accomplish in the next 5-10 years are to continue to help clients improve their health with nutrition counseling and also to continue work on improving access to services for children with developmental disabilities and medical issues in the State of Vermont.
